Ain't I greedy? Not updating forever, and then jumping in to ask favors before writing anything witty or amusing or educational?

There's two things I could use help with. First, does anyone in the Seattle area want to earn some easy money? I need a cat visitor (or cat sitter, if your home is cat friendly); I'm willing to pay $20 a visit plus an additional bit for gas (say, $10 for gas for up to two visits).

All you need to be able to do is be known by me (or vouched for by someone who is known by me) because you'll be getting a key to my apartment from time to time, and visit the apartment every 36-48 hours that I'm gone. Check on the cats, if you're a cat-person, feel free to pet/scritch/cuddle/play, but the big things is just make sure you've seen two healthy, living cats, then check dry food, clean and re-fill water bowls, and clean their canned-food bowls and give them each half a can (or, heck, a full can each - doesn't matter) of cat food.

One last duty is to make sure you've heard back from me at the end of my trips away. Now that I'm living alone, especially, I keep having nightmares of something happening (being struck by a meteor, or whatever) so I can't get home, and my cats starving.

I'm looking for someone for this weekend, if possible, and for part of next week (Wednesday or Thursday through Saturday - I'll be home Sunday evening at the latest). If anyone's interested, let me know, here or in e-mail. (My user profile has my e-mail address. There's a click-through link that you'll be mailed to validate e-mail sent to me, part of spam protection, but it's a once-only thing. Do it once, and you're on the approved list. I'll *probably* notice your e-mail in the "possible spam" queue and validate you myself, but the click-through helps make sure your e-mail isn't sandwiched between... well, *you* know what kind of spam gets sent.)

The second favor is, does anyone know of a good keyboard for a palm pilot/PalmOS PDA? I've been looking for something for writing. My laptop is too big to use in a lot of situations (forget using it on airplanes, for the most part!) I've seen some keyboards that almost turn a PDA into a laptop, and that's the kind of thing I'd like... something that holds the PDA in place, is semi-sturdy and is moderately stable, so that if I'm on a bus/train/plane and things get bumpy, the PDA isn't going to go flying. (I suppose a bit of velcro tape might fix that problem, as well, as long as there's a platform.

Also, ideally, I'd rather *not* have a radio transmitter (bluetooth or whatever) if it's a wireless keyboard. (IR is okay, but radio waves make me nervous about using it on a plane. I'm rarely on a plane, but when I am, I need something to keep me occupied, and writing often fits the bill.)

Thanks in advance, everyone; updates about John's life, or thoughts/opinions/commentary (or even something interesting :-) ) will follow in the near future.

Pride is a funny kind of word, because it can be a good quality or a bad quality. Having a "Gay Pride" march can be seen as declaring one's self *especially* proud to be gay, as if it's something better than not being gay.

But over the past few days I realized I *know* what Gay Pride means.
Profanity and sexual references follow. )
