Fun with numbers...
Jul. 21st, 2004 03:20 pmIn another journal, I noticed someone quote the line that Al Quaeda might have close to 20,000 members.
And that made me think about something.
20,000 x 5 = 100,000, so x50 is a million, so x 50,000 is a billion.
One billion dollars is $50,000 per Al Quaeda member.
We're spending that much *EACH WEEK* in Iraq, and Al Quaeda doesn't operate out of Iraq.
Did the invasion make us safer? Or was it a distraction from the real enemy?
$50,000 bucks for each and every Al Quaeda member, each and every week...
And, remember, John Kerry, the administration contemptuously says, would treat this as a LAW ENFORCEMENT issue, not as a MILITARY issue. I wonder how many new law enforcement folks we could get for 50 grand, per Al Quaeda member, per week.
