In another journal, I noticed someone quote the line that Al Quaeda might have close to 20,000 members.

And that made me think about something.

20,000 x 5 = 100,000, so x50 is a million, so x 50,000 is a billion.

One billion dollars is $50,000 per Al Quaeda member.

We're spending that much *EACH WEEK* in Iraq, and Al Quaeda doesn't operate out of Iraq.

Did the invasion make us safer? Or was it a distraction from the real enemy?

$50,000 bucks for each and every Al Quaeda member, each and every week...

And, remember, John Kerry, the administration contemptuously says, would treat this as a LAW ENFORCEMENT issue, not as a MILITARY issue. I wonder how many new law enforcement folks we could get for 50 grand, per Al Quaeda member, per week.

spending that much money on law enforcement folks would mean I can not be earned by the various industries that are getting it now. ( ammunition manufacturers, private security organizations, various service-suppliers ( I think a good part of the supply-chain is outsourced ) ) And so those industries wouldn't have the money to donate in campaign dollars.
Instead it would create jobs in the country.
And having that much people spending their new wages would increase inflation surely !
And where would one find all those qualified law enforcement folks ?
( I mean law enforcement is kind of skilled labor , people have to have some talent and training. )

Chuckle; yeah. And think of all the journalists who'd have to cover, I dunno, the local state fair or whatever, rather than having war coverage to report on. (Oh, wait... they're all evil liberal traitors who are reporting all the bad news, like "lots of trouble and lots of people dying" rather than the good news, like "people are tough and will keep living their lives even with lots of trouble.")
