Say those three words, mean them, and you can cause unspeakable pain and sorrow. Just don't think about it, just don't worry about it, because if you work hard enough, you can block it out.
Don't think of the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, the family and friends of those who die. Don't think about the suffering of the injured and maimed. They're not near enough for you to hear their screams, so just pretend they aren't screaming.
But we care. We care about the victims, their friends, and their families; we care about the maimed and injured and terrified who you've hurt. We care about justice.
Where you use indifference, we respond with love, and compassion.
Where you must cut yourself off and cause harm, we reach out and bring healing.
Where you must hide, we can stand proudly.
And while you must now live the rest of your lives in fear, we can live ours with courage.
Shout your defiance and hold your head high; it doesn't matter. You've sown destruction, and you shall reap its full measure.
