For those of you who don't know it, I just recently changed offices, and now, instead of working in West Seattle, I'm working in Gig Harbor. Today, I suppose I realized that I must belong here...

I went out for a walk on my lunch, and just wandered.

There's a trail that Google tells me is about three miles long. It's also got a fair amount of trash that really ought to be picked up before it causes any problems to the plants or animals.

And, you know, it's hard to argue when nature has provided an actual, honest-to-goodness trash bag caught in some weeds.

I haven't really learned to listen to nature yet, not the way I think I might be able to, someday... but when it's loud, and calling, I guess I can't help but say "okay, okay, I'll do what I can".

So, some pieces of balloon, lots of bits of plastic, some styrofoam coffee cups, and several cans and other assorted junk have been removed from the nearby almost-natural, somewhat-semi-kinda-wildlife-supporting areas.

Now let's see if I can translate that into some energy for a slow Friday afternoon.

Dang I thought you were still working down in Kent... I am in West Seattle. Mike is supposedly starting in Bremerton on Monday.

Gig Harbour is a pretty area though.

is one less piece that will lie there - like the starfish on the beach, it does make a difference. Nature thanks you - or rather, will do so.

What I love is the way nature keeps sending you balloons to nudge you to do some clean-up. (-:

It sounds like the surroundings at the Gig Harbor office may be more conducive to listening to nature than the old neighborhood. All it needs now is a Starbucks somewhere in the vicinity ...
