Laptop availability?
Mar. 6th, 2004 03:41 pmFolks, right now, before you can forget, if you have the opportunity to find out about a used laptop that can run Windows/Office XP, please do so. I have about two weeks to try to find one for a friend who's dying of cancer.
I have about $200 I can throw at this, if that helps anyone.
I suppose Monday I'll ask around and find out if we can take up a collection in the office for him... there's 90 employees, and if each person was willing to donate $3, that'd be enough (with the extra $200) to buy a decent used laptop. But, if anyone out there is fortunate enough to have a 300+mhz laptop, with 128+megs of memory, that's ready to be thrown out, or sold cheaply, or whatever, please let me know.

But, that said, massively high screen resolution, CD-RW and floppy both, 12GB of disk, 384MB of RAM. And I'm in the right neighborhood.
