I had a little bit of a funny feeling about my last entry, so I want to make sure I'm clear about this.

I'm not saying that anyone over 50 has to support gay marriage.

I'm not saying that anyone over 50 is to blame for the fact that gays are discriminated against.

I'm not saying anything bad about a randomly chosen 50+ year old person.

I *am* saying that any 50+ year old who

1) thinks disparagingly of some of the stories told about brief, anonymous, purely sexual encounters among large numbers of gay men, and
2) refuses to acknowledge that society's laws, and society's hatred and contempt of gay people played a huge role in that behavior

has no right to talk about 'responsibility'.

Oh, how this takes me back to the Sixties, with all that "don't trust anyone over thirty" stuff. Not that it's quite the same thing, but it sure does take me back.

No, Chris doesn't have a journal. She's still at the same e-mail address, though, and she checks e-mail every once in a while, and we're still at the same phone number if you have the one in the 253 area code.

(I don't know if this is sounding terse or not, but I'm having a bad day, so, if it *is* terse sounding, the reason is my own mental strangeness.)
