They made this movie based on The Avengers - you know, the Marvel comic book series? Anyway, I just saw it. It's *really* good.



Yes, this *is* a joke about how out of touch I've been. But at least I saw it in an actual theater.

Yes, pretty fine film. I liked it too. It convinced me I want to see the Captain America and Thor movies that lead up to it. (Also, if they get around to making a Black Widow backstory movie, I'll watch that.)

Black Widow gets some screen time in Iron Man 2 (a bit more than Hawkeye gets in Thor.)

I adored Black Widow (and her chemistry with Hawkeye-- the pair of them lit me up like a Christmas tree!) in the Avengers!

So I Netflixed Iron Man 2 just to see more of that character. And I was sadly disappointed. What Joss Whedon does so well in making Natasha a fully rounded character in the latest movie is completely lacking in IM2. I'd love it if they did a Black Widow/Hawkeye backstory movie, but only if they get Joss Whedon to write and direct again. I'm not sure I'd trust anyone to get that same chemistry out of those actors again.

There are rumors that they might do a BW story, maybe. It depends on if they comic book movies are still selling big when they get through a few more, I think. There is also rumors of Hulk showing back up, sometime. I'd love to see a hulk movie that had IM as a secondary character (and probably SHIELD would be involved.)

The BW/HE mix would be awesome, I think. (Maybe when he went after her for SHIELD, or possibly Budapest? :P)

I walked out of the movie theater after seeing the Avengers the first time saying, "I want to know what happened in Budapest!" (Okay, the first thing I said when we were leaving the theater was, "That was F*(*#%@# AWESOME!!!", but the bit about Budapest came soon after. :))

I'm actually more interested in Prometheus, since I don't really have a good background in Marvel comics. But I see they're both playing at the same theater here. Hm. Maybe I'll get inspired to take in a double feature next weekend...
