Family friendly Portland day trips?
Jul. 9th, 2010 01:57 pmI have a friend here at work who'd like to take a trip to Portland - he has two youngish children (one under 2) and would like to know what to do while down there. Besides hitting Buffalo Wild Wings to score me a lot of wing sauce, I mean.
Anyone out there have any ideas?

Date: 2010-07-11 02:45 am (UTC)Things kids (and grownups) might especially enjoy, and that don't cost much (besides the Zoo and Omsi, which others have mentioned):
Voodoo Doughnuts (http://voodoodoughnut.com/)
Portland Aerial Tram (http://www.portlandtram.org/) (Kids under 6 ride free!)
Saturday Market (http://www.portlandsaturdaymarket.com/) (which operates on Sundays, too).
Tom McCall Waterfront Park (http://www.portlandonline.com/parks/finder/index.cfm?PropertyID=156&action=ViewPark). Just a really nice park along the Willamette, lots of room for kids to run, and if it's hot, everybody plays in the fountain.
