Announcing:
A healing circle, being held every 3rd Saturday of the month.

What kind of healing circle?
I feel that the world isn't a healthy place, and none of us are entirely and perfectly whole. Even among those of us who are whole enough to say they do not need *healing*, there is enough damage around us, of various sorts, involving various entities, that there's a general need for healing.

I want to gather like-minded people together to contemplate what healing is, and how we heal, to learn from each other, and to provide community and assistance to each other with respect to understanding and growing in healing energies.

Please note that this is emphatically *not* limited to those who currently, or intend to, practice the healing arts on other people, nor is the healing of people the only healing that is of interest. The goal is merely to work together to learn about, build up, share, and utilize energies that can be called "healing energies" - those energies that make people, and the community, and the earth, healthier/stronger and happier.

What will the circle be doing?
All of my training is shamanic based (Core Shamanism as taught by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies), so those are the tools I bring to the table. Talking circle, journey, drumming/sound based energy raising, and ritual are the tools we have starting off. I expect (but at this point don't require) that all participants will eventually use drumming-facilitated journey as a tool.

I tentatively expect some form of ritual each meeting for the raising and direction of energy.

When is it held? Third Saturdays, from when to when?
10am (9:30am if you run on Pagan Standard Time) to 3pm, with a potluck lunch at noon(ish). There will typically be some protein provided. (NB: protein is usually, but not always, meat/poultry/fish.)

How about other stuff?
The location is in downtown Renton. (e-mail johnpalmer at shamanicweirdness, com for details)

The house is somewhat under-furnished, but there's a futon for sitting on, and another can be brought out if at least one other healthy person can help move it. There are some kitchen chairs, pillows, and blankets, and the floor is covered with wall-to-wall carpeting.

Sadly, there are no cats currently in residence, but there was one recently, and will be more in the future.

Kitchen and food prep items are all owned and used by an unashamed omnivore - please make pre-arrangements if you need any special considerations.

The house has some stairs (six up to get to the front door), and the sidewalk needs some repairs - *please* do a drive-by to investigate, if you have mobility questions.

I believe there is room for as many as dozen people (though it will get somewhat cozy) but there is only one bathroom.

Anything else?
Yes - this is my first attempt to do anything of this sort. If anyone has any advice for appropriate publicizing of this new circle (or wishes to forward this to other mailing lists where such announcements are appropriate), please feel free to do so.
