Spirit journey on the equinox
Mar. 21st, 2007 11:32 pmYesterday night was a funny one; I worked from home, but I still didn't leave for the gym until nearly 7, meaning that, with food shopping, cooking, and cleaning to do, I'd have little time for my equinox ritual.
Nevertheless, when you've been meditating a great deal and learning more about your mind, it *is* possible to rush a spirit journey... well, at least a little.
After making a cheese stuffed meatloaf and putting it in the oven, I smudged the area with sage, and sat down. Rather than stepping into the river, and letting it carry me, I dove in, and swam it, and jogged down the path to the World Tree, which is the root for my journeying. I quickly gave thanks and gifts to my spirit animals, and had a feeling that Raven wanted to hand me off to Cat. I was right - and I assure you, this was not influenced by Chibi and Skitty jumping onto the couch to snuggle close (though I'm not as sure that the reverse isn't true).
