Dec. 22nd, 2006 07:25 amSo, I'm still on vigil for under half an hour.
Some good things happened. I made it to the gym, and found that I can jog 3.5 minutes at 5.2 miles an hour, and I only need about 1.5 minutes of rest (defined as walking at 2 mph) before jogging again. For someone who weighs 265, that's not bad.
It's not even that bad for someone who now weighs about 255... I finally got on a scale. While I agree with those on my friends list who caution about mistaking lower weight with better health, in this case, the correlation is good... I have more muscle, and less fat, on my body.
Short term (in the next 90 days), my goal is to boost my speed up to 6mph while maintaining the same ratio of running to slow walking. However, to strengthen my legs, my immediate goal is going to be trying to get that stretched out to 5 minute jogging to 2 minutes walking... or maybe to 25 minutes jogging at 5.2 mph, before trying to build up speed.
I made some discoveries, most of which were personal, and that was good.
And, since the newborn god and I were pulling an all-nighter, I introduced the new god to pizza from Papa Murphy's. It's a damn shame I'm on vigil, so I have to wait until tonight to introduce the god to beer.
Past that, I did some house cleaning, some straightening up, some throwing out of trash, and otherwise kept myself occupied. If I can only make it through today, I'll be golden.
May the sun shine brightly on you all; though the shadow is not evil in itself, I hope you all enjoy the return of the light.
