It's a funny kind of thing... I think I get more stuff done that I want to get done when I have a job, because that's when I really have to think about what I *want* to do.

Well, I'm taking a step towards changing that. I've decided that, before I go to bed, before I can even have a pre-bedtime drink (I enjoy a couple ounces of whiskey before bed), I have to clean up so I can manuver quickly and easily the next day. That means, in the morning, I can quickly make breakfast, tea, and sit at my computer, before working, looking for work, or doing stuff.

One of the things that proved to me that I'm not organized enough to do stuff I want is that I hooked up with an old friend, Bill Yang, just a few days ago - but it's already getting on to a week, and I haven't called him over the weekend like I said I hoped to, and I haven't e-mailed him to say that I'm sorry I missed him. I did introduce him to my LiveJournal and blogs (Hi Bill!), but dang it all, he deserves better than a side note in a journal entry.

(I'm suddenly tempted to put "Good to talk to you again, Bill!" in H1, and say "there; now he's got top billing, not just a side note".)

So, I think I like the idea of having certain tasks to do at a certain time, with a specific reason. The trouble is finding the time to create bundles of tasks to categorize my time. Well, I'll get to that sooner or later.

Right now, I'm trying to decide if I should ride my exercise bike and fool around on my Playstation, ride my exercise bike and watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, or go to the store to get cat food and yeast. (I just bought a bread machine, having found a decent minimalist bread recipe: whole wheat flour, gluten, sugar, salt yeast, water. I'd been holding off on the idea of buying a bread machine, but I finally figured that whole wheat bread of this time can't be any worse for me than the bulgar wheat I stock. So, I need a jar of yeast, not the tiny amount contained in the three packets I bought from the supermarket when I was thinking of actually making bread by hand.)

Before those of you who know I need exercise cheer me on to the exercise bike, what, do you think I was planning to *drive* to a supermarket that's a lousy 2 miles away?

But it is raining.

I really need something like a goretex windbreaker... something waterproof, breathable, and not so blasted hot that I'll feel like I'm in a sauna by the time I walk for half an hour. The weather claims it's a high of 48 out there; I might be part polar bear, but an hour in the rain when it's under 50 is enough to chill me to the bone. So, I guess it's the exercise bike after all.
