I don't watch TV, so I can't judge. But this was hilarious.

(I reckon anyone who thinks the media is unfairly portraying Palin as a lightweight might find it offensive because they do go for the easy jokes here.)

In some sense, last week's was funnier because they used Palin's actual lines. This week's started with her actual lines and added more funniness to them. Queen Latifah was a stitch.

It's hard not to go for the easy jokes with Palin. And they totally missed an opportunity to use "Say it ain't so, Joe!" which turned the drinking game from a "Shot for Maverick" to a downright guzzler. Or the fact that she cited the name of a Civil War commander as a present day commander in the Middle East.

I thought they did a good job of being equal-opportunity offenders. All three characters (Palin, Biden and moderator Gwen Ifill) were mocked heavily in that sketch.

I haven't watched the opening of three SNLs in a row since, oh, 1982 or 1983. There's a possibility that Palin is going to make a SNL appearance before the election.

We must be channeling each other across the miles, darlin'; I noticed a reference to the latest SNL in some blog or other and just finished watching it.

I'm not sure it was *quite* as funny as the thing it parodied, but it was pretty funny. (-:

SNL's been really good this season. The return of veteran SNL personality and writer Tina Fey really invigorated the show's political commentary quality. SNL's got a great team of people nowadays. Their "Fauxbama" and Palin characters are incredible.

The sad thing is I'm hearing that they're negotiating the Palin appearances on a week-by-week basis. Tina Fey reportedly doesn't like the role or the skits and wants to get on with her post SNL career.
