...of "the most accurate, but painful, season opener whose specifics were explicitly spelled out in the previous season" award, goes to House MD.

I do hope the writers like happy endings, because *ouch*.

That was BRUTAL. Also, normally his sexism and misogyny is played fairly amusingly and I can't help but giggle. This time the urge to strangle him was strong.

Re: urges to strangle, yeah. Normally, he's brutally cynical, but this time it was like, he was brutally cynical about feminist leaders, but not about anti-feminism. And that no longer comes across as just House being brutally cynical about everything.

Yeah....it was almost like they were trying to force us emotionally to drop any positive feelings we had for the House. However, kudos to the Wilson character for making a healthy decision. (Ok, ok....I've got a crush on Wilson.)

I found myself also not liking Cutty. How ineffectual can you be? Of course, as someone else pointed out above, the whole episode seemed to have a decidedly negative viewpoint of women. Cutty looked like a twit. 13 (Remy Hadley?) was portrayed as ineffectual and incompetent. The patient .... well, you get my point.

Oh, dear. I'm not sure whether I should look forward to this or not.

I bet the writers will make this season some kind of redemption, though ...

It was a very good episode, in many ways. But, I think a lot of fans are reserving judgment until they see where the plot line goes.
