So... for a long time, I had gone though life believing that I was the only person who'd seen a black and white Japanimation cartoon called Prince Planet as a kid. Then, thankfully, I discovered that there were others.

And then... oh, wow. Thanks to the Internet, I found that someone had put a large number of the episodes up on certain popular sites. And so I started watching them again.

It's really fascinating stuff; very simplified storytelling, but pretty decent stories. But that's not the humanity spot that I saw that was so interesting.

No... what was fascinating to me was me... when I realized that only (!) 33 of the episodes are uploaded. (There were no more than 45 total episode, with some not released in an English version). I felt cheated. I felt, well... not angry, but frustrated.

And, of course, at the same time, I felt ridiculous. I'd just found a part of my very young childhood, got to watch a huge, huge chunk of it, and found myself upset that I couldn't see the final few episodes (possibly "not yet")!

But isn't that humanity all over? Sometimes it's hard to recognize something as an unearned blessing, and it's awfully easy to feel cheated when something nice is over.

(Go ahead, tell me, no, most people wouldn't have had so much as an instant of disappointment or frustration! Sure, make me feel bad! Ruin the point I was making! I know you want to!)

('j'ever notice we humanfolks can be awfully paranoid sometimes?)

As a pre-teen, I had a thing for the show Sha Na Na, and a crush on a couple of the members of the band. I discovered recently a handful of their songs on You Tube, and it brought it all back.

And now I am frustrated that the whole show isn't out on DVD. Wahhh!

I think that at times life's glass really is both 73% full (33/45) and 27% empty...
