Okay. I'm no longer doing a wimpy 5.2 mile an hour 'run', and 2.3 mile an hour walk, 3.5 minutes running followed by 2 minutes walking.

Four in a row, I did 3:45 running, and 1:45 walking, bumped my walk up to 2.4, and completed six cycles of 3:45 with the last two having 2 minutes of walking. Then I alternated, 5.5 mph running for 2 minutes with 2 minutes of walking.

Using my own inexpert measures, it seems to me that my heart is getting fit a *lot* faster with interval training than it was getting with pure, steady aerobics. Keeping my heart rate around 145 for an hour doesn't seem to do as much as getting it up to 150, and then letting it drop to 120, over the course of 35-45 minutes.

Anyway: more advancement on the exercise front.
