So I'm sick...

I think it was Wednesday that I realized, happily, that I was sick.
See, my workout had made my head hurt badly, and the next day, my head felt all thick and ouchy and, my god, I can't be hurting myself this badly with exercise, can I? Hell, it's almost like I've got mild heart failure, too, I feel a little short winded, and I can barely breathe... through my nose.
I can barely breathe through my nose. I'm congested. And I feel low on energy and drained.
Thank god! I'm only sick, not so pathetically out of shape that something must be seriously wrong with Mr. "Doing 1100 Calorie aerobic workouts in under an hour".
Unfortunately, I didn't think of the benefits of sickness until late in the weekend. So, I only got shopping for goodies today (frozen pizza, red wine for mulling (anti-oxidants! Yes, really, especially with the cinnamon and cloves!), ice cream, red grapefruit salad - see, some of it's actually healthy! and almonds and pre-made salad), but last night I started watching Ultraman in the original Japanese with subtitling. It's pretty amazing how different is is from the dubbed.
(For any old "two men in rubber suits fighting" fans out there, there is another difference you might notice. When I saw it as a kid, they had an announcer that spoke a lot more than happens in this one, in the dubbed version. I don't know if this was a local difference, or what.)
Anyway: if I'm too sick for complex thoughts and work, I can waste time watching old TV shows on DVD. All I need is a bed tray and my DVD so I can watch in bed in complete luxury. (Un?)fortunately, I don't know if my achey muscles would accept that.
Time to decide now if I'm going to have pizza for dinner or say "to hell with dinner" and go straight to desert. Ice cream *is* soothing on a sore throat.
(What? I don't have a sore throat? How do you know I won't in the next day or too? Haven't you heard of preventative therapy?)
I hope you're all healthier than I; I wish I didn't already know that some of you aren't. Be well; we've got a whole year, minus a single week, to get through, still.
