Updates...
May. 5th, 2006 11:20 amNew update at LongHairedWeirdo. I actually have a few updates, and I haven't been bothering to post them.
It's been a long week, and I've been tired through most of it. Yesterday, though, I felt good again for the first time in a while. I'm trying to nurture that.
I'm once again remembering the key part of my philosophy. Happiness and satisfaction are key to a productive life. Every time you have to force yourself to act, that's a little bit of willpower you're burning, a little bit of energy you don't have any more. If you're happy, you can work hard to get through an unplesant chore to get on to more pleasant things; if you're unhappy, you just don't have the same motivation.
I'm also learning that I still believe that happiness does not occur by fiat. It takes work. To overuse a metaphor, it's like role playing gaming. In an RPG, the players have to wortogether to make for a fun, exciting game and an outcome that makes everyone feel good about the session. But it helps if you have a good, solid base of well played RPG sessions to start with. Experience with being happy helps.
Huh? Oh. Yeah, I guess I could have used sex as a metaphor, but I already recently used sex as a metaphor for RPGing with
kightp so I figured I'd use another.

(Um, and anything I can do in aid of that "experience with being happy" stuff ... just holler.)
