Dec. 3rd, 2004 08:02 pmSo, I just told my boss that any competent DBA would be hunting for a job, and gave him some talking points after asking if I could list him as a reference. I didn't quit; I just told him the plain facts.
Now, after being stuck here until 7:00pm with an 'emergency' that was created at 4:00pm, where I had to fix something that I should have known about *months* ago, and could have fixed three weeks ago, when the problem first manifested, had I been told about it, I'm going home, having spent the extra hour composing my e-mail.
I hope I still have a job Monday, but frankly, I stopped caring. If it's supposed to happen, it'll happen.
