Well, at long last, I have managed to update my friends list. This is something I hadn't paid attention to for a long time, because I wasn't doing a whole lot in LiveJournal.
For the most part, I'm trying to make sure that everyone who has me listed as a friend, is also in my friends list. I don't know if I'll be making any changes, because I hope that, if I can't read my friends list, I can make up a sublist for daily reading, and try to catch up with everyone else when I have the time.
I've always had difficulty keeping track of how quickly time passes, and I feel bad that I haven't gotten back to a lot of people both here in LiveJournal, and e-mail, from Saturday night and Sunday. This time, with a busy job, it's been even more difficult than usual.
I would like to mention that I really appreciate everyone's responses, especially those who told me that they remember...
Remember what? Well, just remember. I don't want to put it into words, because it's too complicated. Like, if I say "remember better times", that says that these are worse times. So, I think it's easiest just to say thank you to everyone who remembers. (That's not to say that I don't have some individual thank yous to say... I don't have time for those just yet.)
Sunday was a weird morning for me. I knew that people were going to be talking to me, and I kind of hope to hear some nice commentary about my leave taking... someone who knows what "Cop Killer" sounds like, and was able to sing along, and nearly busted a gut laughing, or whatever. But I also was aware that this was the last time I was going to be waking up expecting to hear from people in alt.callahans about a post that I made, and it was weird.
I think I made a big mistake in allowing myself to take Sunday off from trying to respond to people, because I knew how busy my job could be. But, if nothing else, I'm taking the train down to Oregon this weekend, and I should have plenty of time for writing out replies... a little bit over four hours on the train each way.
By the way, there is a person who may be joining the LiveJournal community... I won't out him, or her, yet, but hearing about it made me smile, and I imagine that most of the people reading this will smile as well, if it comes to pass.
Well, this is scattered enough that I don't think I could come up with good blow off line, so it probably time to just post this and let it go. Take care, all!
