When you have a chronic condition, it's important to start recalibrating. So:

Today I walked for about 35 minutes, then spent about 10 minutes picking up apples fallen from my trees. (Does anyone in the Seattle-ish area want apples? You're welcome to ask me to pick apples and I'll almost certainly give you leave to do so. No promises about apple quality - I just don't *know*.)

I also jogged - jogged, not ran - 5-6 times for 30 seconds. Just to see what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing bad happens.

I also worked for about two hours today - I had one of those weeks where, every time I had a few minutes to close some cases, I either wasted it doing otherwork, or got called into a Sev A (work continuously, until severity is lowered, or the case is resolved).

So it was really productive for a Saturday, after a very heavy Monday-through-Friday.

In good news: my perpetual hip problem seems to be progressing nicely. Let's see - I think it started in Dec 2010, so it looks like it's been loosening up for about four years. Of course, it was probably messed up for close to 20 before then, so I guess it's not surprising that it's taking so long. It's hard to explain, but it feels like there's two to three final muscle groups that are stretching out and adjusting, and then I might have a normal range of motion for my legs.

That is, in fact, what spurred me to do some gentle jogging today. It may be that I can jog for short durations without wiping my body out. If so, I decided to wait until my hip finished its readjustment. It's a bit easier to adjust one's gait while walking than while running.

And tomorrow, tomorrow I'm taking the ferry to Bainbridge Island to finish a computer build. Here's hoping that works out as easily as it should :-).
