So, on January 1st, I got a bit silly. I wanted to exercise, because if I did, then I'd have a perfect exercise record - 100% of all days in the year in which I did some exercise.

On January 2nd, I exercised again, because [livejournal.com profile] kightp had gone home and I often need a bit of a mood boost after that. Plus, why interfere with a perfect record?

That's worked out through today, the fourth - I'm 4 for 4.

Now, I'm starting to wonder... what are my rules going to be? At least 20 minutes? The standard is 20 minutes of exercise to develop better aerobic fitness. But there's something to be said for the good-try workout - get ready to work out, decide after 2-3 minutes that it just ain't working, and stopping. And what am I shooting for? 100% isn't realistic - a single day of illness can spoil that. But shooting too low kind of ruins the point of keeping track. On the other hand, I'm working a lousy shift - I have to work out before work, and I'm very jealous of my post-wakeup/pre-work time. And... sigh.

I think I'm just going to track my percentage for a while and see how it goes.

I haven't posted one of these in forever, have I?

I haven't been jogging much, so I haven't been able to test my interval training much. But, the last few times I've been out, I've found that my aerobic fitness seems to be increasing.

Last time, I was able to reliably do 2 minutes jogging, 1.5 minutes walking.

Prior to that, I was able to do 1.5 minutes jogging (a bit faster than I jog when doing the two minute intervals), resting for 1.5 minutes, but the 1.5 minutes rest intervals got too boring, and I switched, successfully, to 1.

This is huge - I've broken the 50/50 barrier.

So, if it would stop raining, it would be a good time for me to get out jogging more often. That should happen by... uh... July. "Don't put your rain gear away until July 10th" is the rule. (And then you break it out again in September or so.)

I think I have to figure out how to handle jogging in the rain in spite of having long hair.
