So, with these "nerve mobilization" exercises, I can usually control the spasms. Usually... and, let's be honest - no more minute+ episodes of agonizing, uncontrolled pain. This is a Good Thing, though talk about your lowered expectations!

I've found some exercises that are so difficult and awkward that I just *know* that they're helping do something. But I'm having trouble figuring out how my body works. I want to *exercise* - and some of the exercises are possibly making things worse by overworking strained muscles and re-aggravating the issue.

And I'm still facing the question at work - be in pain and get work done, or get out of pain, and be slow and fuzzy and hard to get started. It's interesting - the Vicodin is like an ADHD-inducer for me. With it, I have the same "I just can't make myself start to do work!" feeling I have on a bad day without stimulants. I also have the same "but if I get working, I might not be *as* good at solving problems, but I'm in the same league."

And maybe I am just as good. I got to work a fascinating case on a high security site. I can't see anything without having it scrubbed, meaning, essentially "don't bother asking to see anything unless you have a long time to wait". Had to think it through. Got it done. Three times (three different cases).

I'm getting a potent reminder of how tiring it is to deal with pain all day. And, may I say, when one's sciatic region is uncomfortable, and one doesn't have good posture, it's very hard to find a comfortable position to sit in long term. Then again, sitting all day isn't healthy either... so maybe this is getting me into healthier habits.

Overall, though I'm insisting that things are getting better... and I think I'm right. It's not just an insistence. But it's *slow*. (6 weeks and counting.)

So, now... I want to see if I can create some training for work before the end of the weekend, and go to a social group dinner(/munch) tonight. And that seems like an awfully hectic schedule, so I'd better get on it.
