So...

Clinicient didn't want me, so it's back to Renton I go.

Tomorrow, I call unemployment and try to get myself off of the "must register three contacts" list so I can get my final check, and check my renter's insurance prices to see where I'm getting it from (my apartment requires renter's insurance - my guess is to avoid "deep pockets" issues, since the liability amount is what's specified), and then drive my car up to Tukwila station and take the Amtrak Cascades back to Albany.

Then, Friday, I get my rented truck, Pat and I pick up my pretty-nice, very-reasonably-priced futon, and load the truck with my stuff. Then, drive up to the apartment, unload the truck, and decide if we can hit the storage locker on Friday. If not, we sleep (possibly after putting the futon together) and hit it on Saturday. Saturday and Sunday are setup and shopping days.

Monday is my first day back at work.

Note to self: e-mail Derek and Chadd, and find out where you're meeting them Monday.

I'm not sure what my plans are from here on out. I see three paths to go down in the immediate future.

1) I try to fill in my deficiencies in T-SQL and learn some C# and either Crystal Reports or MS Reporting Server (this would have gotten me a job in Salem or Eugene)

2) I study Psychology full time, confident that I'll have paid off my debts (just a few thousand, but still too much to contemplate having while entering grad school) and have found a program in a year,

or

3) some combination of the two.

What I don't want to do is let time get away from me again. It's been doing too much of that recently, and in the past. I have to have a plan, and I have to stick to it.

In other news: Monday, I was able to jog four intervals, at 10.5 minutes per interval, with about three minutes rest between each. That's 4.2 miles, right about where I'd like to be, only I'd like to be able to run them all connected together, without resting in between.

No more exercise this week, though... my knees are a bit too tender for that, and I'll be in cars and trucks too much of the time. (I have some tendinitis, which means that having to keep my knee still a long time - like when I'm driving, or even riding in a car - makes them ache.)

Ah well... in large parts, this whole situation sucks, but I'm trying to keep looking at the positive side of things.

I don't know how much I'll be keeping up with live journal, but I'm sending my love to you all.

(To you, too, [livejournal.com profile] kightp; I'm still here to deliver it in person, but I want to get used to having to do it long distance as well, to make sure I'm not rusty when it's time to do it for real. I'm going to miss you....)
