Two things to do...

Yesterday, I had two Really Important things to do.

First, I had to cook the roast of corned beef I had. Second, I had to work out.

It didn't quite work out that way.

With a this and a that and a bit of "I don't want to do this right this moment", the roast didn't get put in the smoker - what, you thought I'd use an *oven* when I could smoke it with the last of my hickory? - until 2. And at 6, I thought it still needed to cook some more.

At 8, I took it out and cut off a piece, and *wow*. And then I looked at the consarned thing and thought "oh." I have three pounds of corned beef here! (Well, according to one person I know, I have three pounds of pastrami, which is even better.) I hope I can handle a lot of Rubens... but what a day to smoke a lot of corned bee. I don't have any swiss in the house! (Or sauerkraut. Or Thousand Island. Or rye bread. In fact, I don't even have a house, I have an apartment. In fact... no, never mind.)

Once I was still cooking meat at 6, I knew going to the gym (which closes at 8 on Saturdays) was a lost cause, but I had to do something... so I turned to my stock of computer games.

I'm a hoarder here... I discovered that I still have 3 5.25" floppies with the original Bard's Tale on it. Isn't that ridiculous? I mean, I have it on three different hard drives, why do I need it on floppies?

I spent the night putting all of my game CDs in a binder, discarding old CD cases, and making sure I have copies of all of my activation codes. The lone exception is my new copy of Sacred Gold, which I have in with my game documentation bucket. (See, for a while, I was buying cat litter in huge plastic buckets... these buckets work good for storage.) Pat and I might have to infect introduce someone to that game. I also copied all of my old 3.5 floppies to hard drive... just in case, you know, I need a copy of MS-DOS 6.22, or Windows 3.1 again.

(I might. Bard's Tale sucks if you have a mouse. You can't type the spell codes in, and if your mages have a lot of spells - and they're supposed to! - it takes forever to scroll to the right one. And on Virtual PC, I can probably load up a DOS box without any problems. And may I mention that it can be a bad idea for a gamer/packrat to go through his collection?)

Anyway... my computer gaming stuff has been greatly compactified. My only worries now are losing my Big Book o' Software.
