So I had this brilliant idea...
Jan. 25th, 2006 10:00 pmYou may remember that I decided, once, to walk to the bank... about three hours, or so, 1.5 out, 1.5 back. Quite an adventure....
Well, I didn't do that this time. I wanted something a little more do-able. I walked, instead, to the post office.
You know, I distinctly remember the post office being *before* the bank, *not* past it!
Ow.
Once again, I realize I need a goretex windbreaker. I have a waterproof one. I know it's waterproof, because I had to open the cuffs at my wrists to let water pour out, on occasion.
(It was, of course, raining, and in the mid-to-high 40s, so I needed protection from the rain, and even, perhaps, a bit of body warmth trapping... so I had to keep wearing the jacket. But still, *blech!*)
On the plus side, a Peanut Buster Parfait can help deal with thirst, hunger, and anhedonia when you hit the home stretch of your walk. If anyone thought it was strange to see a long-haired weirdo eating ice cream in brightish-orange jacket tonight, well, they've just had their consciousness expanded!
I had an interview today for the first of the two jobs I'm interviewing for this week. The one I really want is going to have its interview on Friday. I have a day to recover from a slightly stupid misremembering of distances. No problem... I'm more fit than I was, last time I made that kind of mistake.
