War on Christmas?
Dec. 19th, 2005 11:04 pmI know that it's popular for some folks to talk about a war on Christmas. It made me think long and hard about why it was such a silly idea. That thinking finally found itself bouncing into a song.
To the tune (as I remember it) of "Drunken Sailor":
What would a righteous Christian do,
What would a righteous Christian do,
What would a righteous Christian do, if folks were fighting Christmas?
Work for the poor and disadvantaged,
Work for the poor and disadvantaged,
Work for the poor and disadvantages 'cause Christmas is still coming
What would a loving Christian do,
What would a loving Christian do,
What would a loving Christian do, if folks were fighting Christmas?
Love from the heart and keep on loving,
Love from the heart and keep on loving,
Love from the heart and keep on loving, 'cause Christmas is still coming
What would a brave, strong Christian do,
What would a brave, strong Christian do,
What would a brave, strong Christian do, if folks were fighting Christmas?
Rejoice at the coming birth of the savior,
Rejoice at the coming birth of the savior,
Rejoice at the coming birth of the savior, 'cause Christmas is still coming
What would a faithful Christian do,
What would a faithful Christian do,
What would a faithful Christian do, if folks were fighting Christmas?
Laugh with a hearty ho, ho, ho-o,
Laugh with a hearty ho, ho, ho-o,
Laugh with a hearty ho, ho, ho-o... 'cause no one can beat Christmas.
