Nevertheless, I found the quote that best sums up the last chapter of my book (now in the "ready to market to agents" phase):
“Though force can protect in emergency, only justice, fairness, consideration and cooperation can finally lead men to the dawn of eternal peace.”

Edited to add: I hope it's implicitly understood that I'm referring to the current leadership, not to the tens of millions of ordinary folks who make up the party as a whole. Call it the neo-cons, if you prefer. Nevertheless, I think if he were to come back from the grave, and say this again, many of the Republican powerbrokers would brand him a whiny liberal.
