I've decided I'm going to create my own "national nonfiction writing month", and dedicate myself to getting 50,000 words of ideas and such written, with a hope to make it essays that can be strung together, or chapters that could be in a book, or something.

Today in the US is election day; anyone reading this probably already knows that.

I won't play the "VOTE TODAY!" game, exactly. I'll play this instead.

Do you have *ANY* sensible reason to want to vote?

Do you think Kerry won't "take the fight to the terrorists", or do you think that Bush took the fight in the wrong direction?

Do you think Bush's tax cuts and other financial plans will help America, or do you think that we need to raise the minimum wage, so workers aren't becoming cheap, exploitable resources, and increase the number of people with health care coverage?

Do you think Kerry is a blatant flip-flopper who can't be trusted, or that Bush is a complete phony, who simply says what he thinks people want to hear, regardless of the facts?

Do you have any solid reason to feel that one of them is honestly, truly, you've looked at the best unbiased facts you can, the better choice?

Then vote.

If you don't care, if you don't know, if you're going to vote D/R because your parents, and their parents, voted D/R, if you haven't thought, if you haven't reasoned, if you just don't give a damn... then stay home. You'll increase the statistical 'noise' in an election that's been too goddamned noisy already.

Oh, and if it's not obvious: yes, if you stay home because of what I just said, you're a spineless, brainless, unthinking, uncaring idiot. Now get fired up; how dare this long haired weirdo start bitching you out! YOU aren't SPINELESS and you SURE ain't BRAINLESS, right?
