Nov. 4th, 2003 10:59 pmWell, I keep thinking that things are going to slow down a little bit at work, and I keep ending up being wrong about that. Plus, my life seems to be getting a little bit busier as well.
I'm getting a good bit done at work, and I like that, but things are going to get even busier soon. My opposite number, the Windows administrator in Denver, has to take medical leave for a couple of weeks, so I'm going to be traveling to Denver (again! This time I get a humidifier ASAP!) to cover for his job there.
It's a good opportunity, because it will be nice to be able to work with the Denver folks again, and I will get to the well-known among those people as a brilliant young database administrator, and all-around wonderful Windows administrator, but this will be two business trips within the first six weeks have job, for a job that nominally has 0% travel required.
Please understand that I'm not in any way complaining about this. Still, it's pretty busy... and since I might be leaving for Denver next week, I don't have a lot of time to do things that relate to my "real life". I've had to rebuild my home computer, and if I'm flying out of Denver, I would like to have laptop computer (I don't really like the thought of trying to carry my home computer on to an airplane...), I'm trying to get my apartment cleaned, I'm trying to help make a new kitten feel at home, and my senior cat, Chibi, is sick as well.
In fact, Chibi's illness has me worried; I might be having irrational anxieties, which I hope is the case, or I'm having an ugly bit of insight, but I'm afraid that he might have a really serious illness.
Tomorrow, I'm going to try to get a vet's appointment for Chibi, and I hope that we can find out that it's nothing serious.
