Well... my life is changing a bit.

Nothing major in the "my heavens, I must brace for changes the likes of which I could never have imagined before", mind you, but there are changes going on.

First, I'm in love with Pat Kight, and extremely happy. Of course, that's kind of major and life changing, and not exactly what I was thinking of when I started this, but I love saying and thinking about it enough to mention it.

Next, after about three years of being on night shift, I'm moving to days, starting Saturday. So, I'm taking a vacation day Saturday to avoid having to be switched over quite so soon. I figure that staying up late is a lot easier than trying to go to be early, so that's the way I'll be running it.

I finally have some programming books, and some Cisco books, and I think I'm about ready to start devouring knowledge again. This might be important... Worldcom stock is down under $3. (Keep in mind that my options, which I figured would be valuable, are at $15. Of course, my new options, which will be set at the price in August, should be really worthwhile if the company survives.)

Along with moving to day shift, I'm finding that I have some time to volunteer at The Wet Spot... that's a unique "sex positive" center in Seattle. It'll be good to meet some new people with a common interest. Circumstances have tied together nicely to make this work out better than it would have before.

The one bit of bad news is that, working day shift carries its own set of problems... at least, working 12 hour shifts for a place that needs 24/7 coverage does. Saturday nights, The Wet Spot hosts it's Pansexual Play Party... it lasts until 2 am. Sure, I can be there... but if I stay even as late as midnight, I'll have to be able to run home, and survive on 3-4 hours of sleep that Sunday, since I'm guaranteed to work Sundays. I might see if I can trade Sundays with the other day shift person from time to time.

Ah well... all the more reason to work hard on Cisco and my programming skills... so I can move to a more regular work schedule.
