I have a University of Washington interview at 10:00am on the 8th. Is there anyone out there who can lend a weirdo crash space for the night? It's that, or a motel, or getting on the road at 5:00am for the interview.

Sleeping conditions don't matter as much as you might think; remember, I'm trying to avoid getting up at 4:00am and then driving for four to five hours. If your house is a bit noisy, or chaotic, well, it's not up against stiff competition in the nighttime comfort arena :-). Also, I have an air mattress (queen sized, be warned) if you don't have a couch or spare be, but do have space.

We can arrange payment however you like, but I expect to give *something* in return, even if it's candlemaking, food prep, or somesuch.

I have a couch and you're welcome to it and we can call it even for helping us pack if you like. <3 We're literally right down the street from UW.

I'm not local to Seattle-ish, but I'll send good thoughts your way for the interview.

We have room for you as well, if the other offer doesn't work out. I'm not sure we'll be around that night - we may be down in CA - but either way you are welcome. We're in Kirkland, about 15 minutes across 520 to UW.

Hey there. You don't know me except for a couple (1-2?) LJ posts.

BUT. If all else fails, I live in Tacoma, which is a fair distance to Seattle, although I'm six miles away from the Federal Way Transit center, which I take to Redmond daily, and I also know services the UW area. (it would take a bit of online research to coordinate stops and such, but it's doable)

We have a guest bedroom (which could be freshened with a couple days' advance notice).

I have an 11 year old daughter, and two cats, three parakeets, a green iguana, and a hermit crab (letting you know, it's a pet household....more or less).

If you wish to get a phone number, just in case other plans fall through, email me at serenfire at hotmail dot com. I'd be happy to help if you need it!

If other plans fall through...

There's a sofabed on Bainbridge Island, complete with affectionate feline. :) You'd need to leave on the 7:55 am ferry, to make sure you had plenty of time to deal with Seattle traffic, and get there a bit early, scope the area out.

Breakfast of homemade cranberry scones, with homemade ginger peach jam, could be provided. (Or more prosaic things like cereal or eggs.)

Take care,

That sounds good. I think the interview is at the Medical school; do you know if that changes anything? (I don't expect you would, but the map they sent me really sucks, and if you *did* know, well, that'd be one less thing I had to figure out between now and then :-).

Could you e-mail me at my ljname at newsguy dot com and we can work out details? (One quick question, though: what time do folks go to bed? If it's much after 10:30, I might want to find another place to stay.)
